My Aston Portal (MAP)
My Aston Portal (MAP) is an online system that allows you to view your
student information held on Aston University’s student records systems.
MAP gives students access to student information, including personalised
teaching timetables; module enrolment lists; access to Blackboard and
the Mature Students’ Discussion Forum and allows them to keep the
University up to date with addresses and personal details. MAP will also
be the place that you receive important information about your studies
here at Aston, so it is important that you check MAP regularly to see the
most up to date information.
New students will be able to log into MAP
once they have completed enrolment and
have received their University computer
account details.
Blackboard VLE (Virtual Learning Environment)
Blackboard is the University’s online virtual learning environment
and is used within all four schools of study.
What is a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE)?
A VLE is an online platform that facilitates online learning. Through it you can
log onto all of your modules and:

Access lecture notes and presentations (including audio and video clips)
•
Communicate with your instructor and classmates
•
Read announcements
•
Complete assignments
•
Take online quizzes and tests
•
Take part in discussions and group work
As Blackboard is a web-based resource you
can access it at any time and from any place!
All you need to do is login using your standard
University username and password.
