Access to Learning Fund (ALF)
The Access to Learning Fund is a source of financial assistance for Aston
University students who are experiencing unexpected financial hardship
or a genuine lack of sufficient funds. The fund is intended to assist those
who need additional financial help to meet particular costs which are
not already being met from statutory (or other) sources of funding; to
alleviate cases of financial hardship; to meet unexpected financial crisis
and to intervene in cases where a student may be considering leaving
higher education because of financial problems.
Priority is given to students who:
Have children
Are from low income families
Have disabilities and/or specific
learning difficulties
Are care leavers
Have been homeless
Are in their final year of study
Are attending a compulsory
unpaid or low paid placement
