The Careers and Employability Centre
The Careers and Employability Centre is situated on the 1st floor of the
South Wing (just above Reception) and offers a wide range of resources,
including the Information Room, contact with Advisors, workshops, and
information on event and fairs.
The Careers Service Guide is also available from there, and can be found
on their website. Whether you are considering placements, graduate
opportunities, further study, opportunities overseas, voluntary work, time out,
other options or just want advice on what you can do, this is your one-stop
guide that will point you in the right direction. It also includes advice on
developing your employability skills, job-hunting, applications, CVs,
assessment centres and interviews, and has useful tips from employers
and Aston students and graduates.
Students’ Job Shop
Situated on the first floor of the Students’ Union, staff at the Job Shop
offer advice and guidance on gaining part-time and vacation work.
They advertise a wide variety of part time and vacation vacancies,
and as local employers use this service
regularly opportunities are usually good.
The Job Shop can also offer help
with creating CVs for part time and
vacation work.
