The Learning Development Centre (LDC)
Hello and Welcome to Aston University
The LDC is a central service and we work with all Aston students to help them
develop their academic skills and succeed as students. Throughout the year we
offer workshops on:
Academic writing
Critical reading and note making
Understanding of referencing and plagiarism
Exam and revision strategies
Understanding assessment and feedback
Presentation skills
Time management
The LDC also provides:
A Maths Centre, staffed by specialist tutors to support you across a range
of maths topics
Student Writing Mentors, available to develop your academic writing skills
An Open Study learning space
Group study rooms for practicing presentations and group work
If during your studies at Aston you have any academic
related concerns or questions, please come and see
either myself or one of my colleagues in the LDC.
You’ll find us on the First Floor of the library or check
our webpages at

and through
the LDC Blackboard module.
